Can water reduce inflammation?

This month we are, again, focusing on ways to reduce inflammation.  (See last month’s article here). This time, we are looking at how drinking water, particularly Electrolyzed Reduced Water, can help reduce inflammation. Properly hydrating your body is an excellent way to remove toxins and waste from your system.  Drinking alkaline water (8.0 or higher) goes beyond simple hydration since it efficiently works at a molecular level.  Read on to find out how.

Hydration

Our alkaline water contains “micro-clusters.”  These clusters contain 5 molecules per cluster, instead of 10-15 clusters found in tap water.  These small clusters are better absorbed by your cells and hydrate your body six times more efficiently than regular water.  It also helps your body to rid itself of waste more quickly than regular water.  Getting rid of waste helps the body to experience less inflammation.

Remember, when you drink unfiltered water, you become the filter.  Your body filters out the harmful ingredients and has to work to overcome the negative effects of those ingredients. In the course of fighting foreign toxins, the body uses inflammation.  The more toxins in your body, the harder the body needs to fight to remove them.  By cleansing the body of toxins through alkaline water, your body does not have to fight as hard, and you will experience less inflammation.

Raw Fruits & Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are natural inflammation fighters, so while you are probably already including them in your diet, use ph 11.0 water to cleanse them from any wax and chemicals on the skins. The alkaline nature of the water reacts with acidic residues and breaks them down into harmless compounds that are rinsed away. This process is called “alkaline hydrolysis.”

While choosing organic or locally grown produce is the best option,  even organic fruits and vegetables have been sprayed with various chemicals.  Washing all fruits and vegetables is one more step to reducing the harmful chemicals your body ingests. Simply soak your produce in alkaline water for 20-30 minutes.  You will notice the water turning brown as the chemicals are broken down.  Simply rinse your produce in fresh, ph7 water after the soak is complete.

Using this type of alkaline water as a part of a healthy lifestyle reduces the inflammation in your body.  Many diseases like asthma, Crohn’s disease, and arthritis all have inflammation as a key component of the disease.  Scientists are starting to consider whether cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, and even high cholesterol levels are also caused by inflammation, as well.  Consider using alkaline water to reduce inflammation in your daily life.
